...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 PM EDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Kentucky, including
the following counties, in east central Kentucky, Estill. In
southeast Kentucky, Jackson.
* WHEN...Until 1030 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 908 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that the heaviest
rainfall had exited the area; however, minor flooding of
small streams and creeks, roads, and roadside culverts will
continue to be a threat through 10:30 PM, due to excessive
runoff from previous heavy rainfall that occurred between
6:30 and 9 PM.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Blanton Flats, Alcorn, Jinks, Locust Branch, Brazil, Foxtown,
Blackburn and Noland.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
