...Preliminary Storm Survey for the south side of Elkhart in
Elkhart County IN...
The National Weather Service office in Northern Indiana is
preparing to survey an area of extensive damage on the south side
of Elkhart per the request of Elkhart Fire and Elkhart County EMA.
The survey is in relation to the severe thunderstorms that moved
through the area during the early morning hours of July 16th,
2024.
A final assessment including results of the survey are expected
to be completed and transmitted via a Public Information
Statement by later today.
While damage reports are still being gathered, no other surveys
have been requested at this time.
The storm survey information will also be available on our
website at http://www.weather.gov/iwx
