.KEY MESSAGES...

- Dry and quiet weather persists this week

&&

.DISCUSSION (This evening through Monday)...
Issued at 317 PM EDT Mon Oct 19 2026

Pleasant, sunny fall weather will persist throughout the forecast
period as upper level ridging and broad surface high pressure
dominates the weather pattern.

Each day through at least the work week will largely be the same
with mostly clear skies, light variable winds, and pretty consistent
temperatures. Highs will range from the upper 60s to low 70s while
overnight lows will be in the low to mid 40s. By the weekend,
overnight lows could warm ever so slightly, into the upper 40s, as
southern flow strengthens due to ridging to the west becoming more
amplified. Going into the weekend will likely also see a slight
increase in dew points as well as upper level moisture which could
produce scattered clouds.

Given the dry weather, there is some fire weather concern through
the next week. Winds will luckily stay low and RH values are
expected to stay above critical threshold, but do take precautions
with open fire.

Looking into the long range, the next shot of precipitation does not
look possible until next week with the chance of a frontal system
moving through.

.AVIATION (18Z TAF Issuance)...
Issued at 139 PM EDT Mon Oct 19 2026

Impacts:

None expected

Discussion:

VFR conditions are expected to continue near central Indiana
terminals through the period. Persistent high pressure will keep
mostly clear skies and light variable winds around.

Can't completely rule out brief fog around daybreak at low lying
sites, but confidence is low given how dry the airmass is so have
kept any mention out of TAFs for now.
