Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Cleveland OH
238 AM EDT Sun Oct 18 2026

.WHAT HAS CHANGED...
No significant changes to the previous forecast.

&&

.KEY MESSAGES...
1) Dry and seasonable weather is expected into next weekend as high
pressure remains across the region.

&&

.DISCUSSION...
KEY MESSAGE 1...
The latest satellite imagery reveals clear skies across the
region this morning. Numerous interior surface observations
indicate temperatures in the low to mid-30s (and even upper 20s
in some spots), evident of a widespread Frost/Freeze in
progress. Depending on which areas hit freeze criteria tonight,
there is the potential for another round of frost Sunday night
into Monday, and again on Monday night into Tuesday as the high
pressure center slowly shifts east into southeast Ohio.
Generally seasonable and dry weather in the 60s are expected
into next weekend with lows in the 30s or 40s.

&&

.AVIATION /06Z Sunday THROUGH Thursday/...
High pressure centered across the Northeast will remain in
control through the TAF period. VFR is ongoing and will
continue. Patchy fog or mist may develop in a few valleys early
this morning, but is not likely to impact any TAF sites. Winds
will trend south-southwesterly on the backside of the high
pressure with speeds increasing to 6-12kt by this afternoon.

Outlook...High pressure remains in control with VFR and light
winds through the week.

&&

.MARINE...
Generally quiet marine conditions are expected into next weekend
with flow less than 20 knots. Winds will increase out of the south
to southwest today into Monday as high pressure slides just south of
Lake Erie, 10 to 15 knots. Generally light flow, favoring an east to
northeast direction at times, is expected through much of the week
as high pressure influences the weather pattern.
