Issued by National Weather Service Jackson KY
348 PM EDT Sat Oct 3 2026

.WHAT HAS CHANGED...

&&

.KEY MESSAGES...

1) A cold front passing Sunday evening will bring a reinforcement of
cooler air lasting a couple days. However, no precipitation is
forecast for the next week.

&&

.DISCUSSION...

Key Message 1)

The cold front which exited southeast of the area on Friday is over
the southeast CONUS and will eventually sink further south to the
Gulf Coast early in the new week. A deepening low pressure system
passing well to our north will send another cold front southeast
through the area Sunday evening. However, the first front well to
the south will keep the moisture supply cut off, and Sunday night's
front will come through dry. A modest drop in temperatures will
follow for a couple of days as surface high pressure builds in from
the northwest behind the front. This high departs to the east by
midweek and allows for returning south to southwest winds to carry in
somewhat warmer air. Another cold front may arrive late in the week
under persistent west northwest upper level flow. However,
significant moisture will still be cut off near the Gulf Coast, and
no rain is forecast.

&&

.AVIATION /18Z SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/...

Mainly VFR conditions are forecast through the period. One exception
is fog which is expected to occur near the Ohio River and in valleys
in southeast OH overnight and early Sunday. It should bring
localized IFR or worse conditions, probably affecting KLUK. Northeast
winds around 10 kts this afternoon will diminish tonight and then
become light northwest to north on Sunday.

OUTLOOK...No significant weather is expected.
