...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Indiana...Illinois...

  White River at Edwardsport down to Hazleton.

  Wabash River at Montezuma down to Mount Carmel.

.Minor flooding continues along the White River below Newberry with
the crest already past Hazleton.  Minor flooding also continues on
the Wabash River from Montezuma down to Mount Carmel with the crest
just below Riverton.  Overall dry weather is expected through at
least Saturday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

The next statement will be issued Tuesday morning at 900 AM CDT /1000
AM EDT/.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wabash River at Mount Carmel.

* WHEN...Until Saturday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, River is bankfull in all locations.  All
  oil field production ceases with the exception of pumping units on
  substructures.  Access to these are by boat only.  Agricultural
  losses increase dramatically.  Farmers move livestock to higher
  ground.  City of Mount Carmel leaves flood gates B and C in year
  round.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:45 PM CDT /8:45 PM EDT/ Monday the stage was 19.5 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 11.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.1 feet
    Thursday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early
    Saturday morning.
  - Flood stage is 19.0 feet.

  flood.  Several township roads about 1.25 miles south of St.
  Francesville and River Road between Billett Road and Lincoln
  Memorial Bridge in Lawrence County are flooded.  Extensive flooding
  of Kimmell Park at Vincennes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:45 PM CDT /8:45 PM EDT/ Monday the stage was 18.4 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
    at 7:45 PM CDT /8:45 PM EDT/ Monday was 18.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise to 18.8 feet Wednesday morning. It
    will then fall below flood stage late Friday morning to 9.3 feet
    early Sunday afternoon. It will rise to 9.4 feet Sunday evening.
    It will then fall again and remain below flood stage.
  - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 19.0
    feet on 01/18/2008.

  and CR 1000E.  Pike county road subject to flooding west of SR 57
  include...CR 250 W...CR 400W...CR 675N...CR 700 N...CR  1000w...CR
  900W...CR 700W and CR 775W.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:30 PM EDT /8:30 PM CDT/ Monday the stage was 17.6 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
    at 9:30 PM EDT /8:30 PM CDT/ Monday was 17.9 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early
    Thursday morning and continue falling to 3.0 feet Thursday,

  levees.  Most of bottomlands flood.  Old Vincennes road and State
  Road 358 between Plainville and Edwardsport are impassable by
  several feet.  High water surrounds river cabins.  This type of
  flood occurs on average about once a year.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:00 PM EDT /6:00 PM CDT/ Monday the stage was 19.8 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
    at 7:00 PM EDT /6:00 PM CDT/ Monday was 20.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    Wednesday morning and continue falling to 5.4 feet Thursday,
    September 03.
  - Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

  Terre Haute area. All lakes in this area are affected by seep water
  and reach capacity with some minor flooding.

  - At 8:30 PM CDT /9:30 PM EDT/ Monday the stage was 21.1 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 11.5 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
    at 8:30 PM CDT /9:30 PM EDT/ Monday was 22.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    Wednesday morning and continue falling to 8.5 feet Thursday,
    September 03.
  - Flood stage is 16.5 feet.

* WHERE...Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site.

* WHEN...Until Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 22.8 feet, Flooding extends to what is locally called
  River Road in several areas. River Road is the rural way south from
  Hutsonville to Palestine.  Flooding in this area affects large
  expanses of agricultural land, river cabins and hunting areas on
  both sides of the river.  Most local, unimproved roads leading
  towards the river are flooded.  These roads led to farms, river
  cabins, private residences, levees and a few oil wells.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - There is no current observed data.
  - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late
    Friday evening and continue falling to 9.2 feet Thursday,
    September 03.
  - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 22.6
    feet on 03/27/1962.
