Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Wilmington OH
200 PM EDT Sat Sep 6 2025

.SYNOPSIS...
An upper level disturbance will lead to the potential for a few
light rain showers today. High pressure and a drier airmass will
build into the region through the first part of the upcoming week.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
Region is still dominated by the upper level trough, with the axis
slowly pivoting east. As a result, showers in areas of NE KY and
south central Ohio slowly depart by late afternoon, followed by
gradual clearing of the mid/high clouds through the remainder of the
area. Overnight lows remain unseasonably cool under NW flow in the
mid/upper 40s outside of the urban areas, where lows will be near 50.
Areas of fog expected especially in the river valleys where todays
showers occurred.

&&

.SHORT TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT/...
Surface high pressure returns to the region under continued upper
level NW flow continuing the below normal. The airmass will also
become increasingly drier. Highs will be in the upper 60s to lower
70s in the southeast, with Sunday night lows getting to within a few
degrees of record lows in the mid to lower 40s.

&&

.LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/...
High pressure will remain in place through the long term allowing
for an extended stretch of dry weather. High temperatures will be in
the 60s and 70s with lows in the 40s and 50s. PLenty of sunshine
through the week along with relatively light winds.

&&

.AVIATION /16Z SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
The upper trough axis will shift east through this evening, with
mid/high clouds accompanying its eastward progression. CAA diurnal
VFR cumulus following the departure of mid clouds will dissipate by
00z. High pressure will build in through the period, with some MVFR
BR possible at KLUK in the 09-12z timeframe.
