.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 208 AM CDT Sun Sep 7 2025

The surface cold front that brought light rain to the area
yesterday has cleared the region, and a secondary 850 mb front
will move through the region early today. With temperatures at
850 mb falling to around 7-10C now through Monday, temperatures
will stay near to slightly below normal temperatures today and
Monday. As H5 ridging increases over the region from the central
and southern Great Plains, temperatures will warm back to near
normal values on Tuesday. As 850 mb temperatures warm to 16-18C
for the latter half of this week, high temperatures will climb
into the lower 90s by next Friday and Saturday, about 5 to 10
degrees above normal.

With no mentionable rain forecast for the next week, abnormally
dry to moderate drought conditions will likely deteriorate
despite Saturday's light rain. There may also be some elevated
fire weather concerns by the end of the week as well, as daily
minimum RH values are forecast to fall to the 25-35% range.
However, forecast gradient winds will be quite modest (4-8 kts
during the afternoon hours at most), which should act as a check
on the fire danger concerns.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z MONDAY/...
Issued at 1145 PM CDT Sat Sep 6 2025

Overnight skies will be SKC to FEW-SCT080, then SKC through
the rest of the TAF period. No vsby restrictions expected,
though localized ground fog not completely out of the question
where rain fell in the last 24 hours. Calm winds overnight will
become north at 4-9kts after 15z, then light north to northeast
after 00z.
