.SHORT TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
Issued at 346 AM EDT Sun Sep 7 2025

Early morning satellite imagery shows mostly clear skies across the
region.  A few mid-level clouds were moving through southern Indiana
and far northern Kentucky.  GOES night-time fog product is showing
widespread valley fog across our southeast sections.  Current
temperatures across the region were in the upper 40s to the lower
50s.

While no significant weather is expected through dawn, locally dense
fog will be possible in areas along and southeast of a line from
roughly Bowling Green to Winchester.  The fog will be most dense in
the river valleys, low-lying areas, and over bodies of water.  A
Dense Fog Advisory will be forthcoming with the forecast across our
southeastern sections. Overnight lows will be in the upper 40s/lower
50s.  Lexington still looks to tie or possibly break their record
low of 47 this morning.

For today, we'll see the valley fog mix out after sunrise.  High
pressure across the Midwest will continue to build into the region.
Rather tranquil, if not down right beautiful weather is expected
across the region today.  Afternoon highs will be in the low-mid 70s
across southern IN and northern KY, with mid-upper 70s across south-
central KY.

For tonight, mostly clear skies are expected once again.  With high
pressure moving over the area, winds are expected to become very
light setting the stage for good radiational cooling.  Lows tonight
will be in the low-mid 40s in the rural areas, with upper 40s/near
50 in the urban areas.  Still believe that our typical cold spots
that have good radiational cooling could touch the upper 30s.  The
most likely spots would be the KY Mesonet stations in
Hancock/Meade/Harrison counties.

.LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/...
Issued at 346 AM EDT Sun Sep 7 2025

In the long term, the forecast thinking remains generally unchanged.
The upper level pattern across the CONUS is forecast to remain
rather blocky with a ridge across the Plains and troughs on the west
and east coasts.  The pattern looks hold through much of the week,
though the mid-level ridge over the Plains may start to build
eastward by the mid-late week time frame.

In terms of sensible weather, mostly sunny days and mostly clear
nights are expected through the period with no precipitation
expected.  Highs on Monday will warm into the upper 70s with
overnight lows in the upper 40s to the lower 50s.  Temperatures on
Tuesday will warm into the lower 80s with highs Wednesday through
Friday averaging in the mid-upper 80s.  Overnight lows through the
period will be in the upper 50s to the lower 60s.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 12Z MONDAY/...
Issued at 124 AM EDT Sun Sep 7 2025

Satellite imagery shows clear skies across the region with night-
time fog imagery showing valley fog over the Bluegrass region of
central Kentucky.  Best chance of fog overnight will be at BWG and
LEX.  Fog will mix out after sunrise and steady northwest winds will
kick up in the mid-late morning hours and continue through the
afternoon hours.  Could see some gusts in the 15-20 mph range during
the afternoon before winds settle down by sunset.  The outlook for
tonight and Monday calls for VFR conditions.
