.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 127 PM CDT Sat Aug 23 2025
A large upper trof evolves over the central and eastern CONUS
through Sunday, and in the process absorbs a weak upper trof over
the forecast region. A surface low located well off to the north
brings a cold front through the forecast area late Sunday night
into Monday and ushers drier and cooler air into the area. Have
continued with slight chance to chance pops on Sunday for
generally all but southeast Mississippi, then dry conditions
follow for Monday through Wednesday. Thursday will be mostly dry
except for a small chance of rain near the coast, then rain
chances trend to chance to good chance pops for the entire area by
Saturday as deep layer moisture recovers. Lows tonight range from
around 70 inland to the mid 70s at the coast, then lows trend
cooler through Wednesday night by which time lows will be in the
lower 60s inland ranging to near 70 at the coast. Overnight
temperatures moderate a bit thereafter, with lows Thursday night
and Friday night ranging from the mid 60s well inland to the lower
70s near the coast. Highs on Sunday and Monday range from around
90 to the mid 90s, then daytime highs trend to the mid to upper
80s by Wednesday. Highs on Thursday and Friday will tend to be
85-90. A low risk of rip currents is expected through Wednesday.
