...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1130 AM EDT THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...The following counties, in central Ohio, Delaware, Licking
and Union. In west central Ohio, Logan.
* WHEN...Until 1130 AM EDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways. Some low-water crossings may become
impassable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 213 AM EDT, flooding was continuing at various locations
in the advisory area. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain has
fallen since Wednesday evening. Additional rainfall amounts
up to 0.5 inches are possible. Although the heaviest rain has
ended, runoff from previous heavy rain will result in
flooding in low-lying areas. High water is expected near area
waterways and streams.
- Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Columbus, Newark, Reynoldsburg, Delaware, Heath, Granville,
Pataskala, Johnstown, Buckeye Lake, Hebron, Richwood, Utica,
Ashley, Lakeview, Hanover, Belle Center, Summit Station,
Beechwood Trails, Granville South and Fairfield Beach.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
