A weak area of low pressure will continue to move east of the
area by this evening. This will take most of the precip with it.
A broad southwest upper flow will maintain some weak overrunning
low clouds and light rain through this evening before the upper
trough moves through Saturday morning. Skies will begin to clear
Saturday afternoon as a drier airmass moves into the area. Low
temps tonight will fall into the upper 20s and low 30s inland to
mid and upper 30s near the coast. High temps on Saturday remain
cold, in the low to mid 40s inland to upper 40s along the coast.
Lows Saturday night drop into the low to mid 20s inland to low/mid
30s along the coast. /13

LONG TERM...
(Sunday through Friday)
Issued at 348 PM CST Fri Jan 10 2025

One more cold rainy day this weekend before cooler and
drier conditions return during the week. The only chance for rain
will come early in the period on Sunday night into Monday as a
subtle shortwave moves across the area. the surface cold front will
be stuck just offshore as a subtle surface low tracks northeast
along this boundary Sunday night. Subtle overrunning will all for
rain to move in late Sunday night mainly across the Gulf waters but
should extend inland some leading to a another cold rain event.  By
Monday, the upper shortwave will push east driving the surface front
further into the Gulf and ushering in another round of cool and dry
air. High pressure will build over the central US in response to the
departing upper trough. Temperatures will be the big thing with the
extended forecast. Temperatures by the end of the week drop into
upper 20 to low 30s once again for lows and highs in the 50s. Some
cold weather products may be needed later in the week as wind chills
will likely drop into the 20s and teens once again. BB/03

Moderate to strong southeast to westerly winds turn northwest
tonight as an area of low pressure passes east of the marine area.

on Sunday. A moderate to strong north to northeast flow returns to
the area Monday through Wednesday. /13
