.NEAR TERM...
(Now through Saturday)
Issued at 425 AM CST Fri Dec 6 2024
Stepped outside this morning to get a breath of fresh air and was
rudely smacked in the face by winter. Its cold this morning as
lows have dropped into low 30s and the combination of a stiff
north wind makes it feel like the mid to low 20s out there this
morning. Overall though it seems the wind might be keeping
temperatures up just enough to hover around to just above cold
weather advisory criteria, but to be honest walking outside you
cannot tell the difference. Luckily this round of cold will not
last long as shortwave ridging quickly builds into the lower
Mississippi valley Friday through Saturday night. This means we
will quickly go from cold northwesterly flow aloft to warm moist
southwesterly flow in advance of a rather active period next week.
Rain will not be a problem just yet but we will quickly go from
Lows in the 30s and highs in the 40s and 50s today to lows in the
50s and highs in the 60s by Saturday. BB/03
