.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 221 PM CDT Thu Oct 31 2024

A band of showers continues to move east through the forecast area
today ahead of an approaching cold front. Clearing is happening west
to east and trick-or-treat weather will be dry for most of the area,
save for the Kentucky Pennyrile which will have some lingering
showers. Brought highs down today due to ongoing showers, cloud
cover, and current trends. Still breezy today ahead of the front
then coming down behind the front. The cold front moves through by
tonight and will switch winds around to the north at around 5-10
mph.

Brief high pressure quickly builds in behind the front. This will
leave us cooler, drier, and clearer tomorrow, though it will be
short lived. Tomorrow's highs will be more seasonable in the 60s.
Late on Saturday another trof aloft deepens out over the Western
CONUS and puts us in southwest flow, sending several small
disturbances through the region over the weekend and early next
week. This brings PoPs back to SEMO starting Saturday afternoon and
then ramps up through Saturday night and then continue through
Sunday and Monday. Despite the rain, temperatures will climb back
into the 70s and even low 80s through Monday.

Tuesday evening and overnight another cold front comes through
bringing another chance for more beneficial rain with PoPs tapering
off on Wednesday. Temperatures on Tuesday will remain in the 70s to
near 80 but come back down into the 60s on Wednesday. Conditions
then dry out on Thursday with continued seasonable temperatures.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z FRIDAY/...
Issued at 1241 PM CDT Thu Oct 31 2024

Rather tricky forecast with the line of showers moving through
the area and a cold front moving through by tonight. Showers
will clear out from west to east over the coming hours. Cloud
cover will follow later this evening and overnight. As the cold
front comes through winds will switch around to the north and
then gradually to the northeast tomorrow morning.
