...New SHORT TERM, LONG TERM, MARINE...

.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Wednesday night)
Issued at 217 PM CDT Tue Oct 22 2024

The weather pattern that we are currently in remains stagnant
through the forecast period. We are under the influence of high
pressure and a generally barotropic pattern. This gives us fairly
typical fall weather with clear skies leading to high diurnal
temperature swings, light winds, and no rain. Held all forecast
parameters to values provided by the NBM. /Schlotz/

.LONG TERM...
(Thursday through Monday night)
Issued at 217 PM CDT Tue Oct 22 2024

Once we reach the mid to upper 80s Wed, we will see temps
stagnate a bit as far as highs and lows go as we move into the
weekend. A front looks to move in by late Sat into Sun and stall
over the northern portion of the area or just north of it. Still
expected to be dry the entire time of this fcast even with the
front. But, the front will do one thing that will cause some
difference...fog. Up to now, we have only seen the shallow
radiation variety but as this front brings somewhat higher dew pts
back to the area with a bit more depth, we should see a few areas
begin to produce radiation fog to higher depth(~100ft). This
could be as early as Sat night or Sun night. Probabilities for
precip could rise just a bit by next week as well, but lets not
get ahead of ourselves, this time frame would be just outside this
fcast time frame. /TE, Schlotz/

.AVIATION...
(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 1219 PM CDT Tue Oct 22 2024

All terminals VFR and should remain so through the period. Slight
chance of minor fog near KGPT and KHUM around sunrise, worth
mentioning here in discussion but not coded in TAFs at this time.

&&

.MARINE...
Issued at 217 PM CDT Tue Oct 22 2024

Marine conditions will stay fairly constant through the forecast
period. Winds will remain at or just below 10kt and generally out
of the east. Seas should remain relatively calm with wave heights
at or below 2ft. The weekend may see a passing shower or two well
offshore.
