.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 228 PM CDT Mon Oct 21 2024

We've been in somewhat of a blocking pattern as of late and the high
pressure system is keeping us sunny and dry. Sfc high pressure
continues to push east while an upper level trof ejects out of the
central Plains. This trof then gets reabsorbed into the flow on
Tuesday night. On Wednesday a second trof descends over the Great
Lakes and ushers in a mostly dry cold front. What few storms this
front may produce look to die right on our doorstep. Behind this
front temps will be in the 70s on Thursday. Temps then moderate back
up into the 80s on Friday ahead of the next system.

Friday another trof aloft swings through and brings through another
cold front. This time around there looks to be some moisture along
the edge of the front. This could bring some storms to the area and
we currently have some slight chance PoPs in the forecast.
Confidences is on the lower side however of these PoPs staying in
the forecast, as the last few times this has happened they have
ultimately been pulled and ended up dry. Temps then cool down for
the weekend with highs in the 60s. Temperatures then start to
rebound on Monday (with highs in the 70s) and the 8-14 day outlook
suggests temps returning to above normal.
