Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Wilmington OH
942 PM EDT Sun Oct 20 2024

.SYNOPSIS...
Dry and unseasonably warm conditions will continue through
midweek. A cold front will move through on Wednesday resulting
in a temporary cool down, but temperatures will warm again by
the weekend.

&&

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM MONDAY MORNING/...
Clear skies and light winds will prevail overnight with some
river valley fog developing once again. Lows will be in the
upper 30s to mid 40s.

&&

.SHORT TERM /6 AM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT/...
High pressure will keep a very dry air mass over the region.
Clear skies will persist until perhaps late Monday night when
some thin cirrus may spread in from the west. River valley fog
will dissipate in the morning and likely redevelop late Monday
night. The gradual warming trend will continue.

&&

.LONG TERM /TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
Once again the model blend shows little precipitation, with some
fluctuation in temperatures. The weather will remain dry on Tuesday
as a vast area of high pressure moves east. For Wednesday, the
forecast has trended dry with nothing more than increasing clouds
and winds associated with a cold front and upper trough. Dry weather
continues Thursday and Friday when high pressure is forecast to
build in behind the cold front. There is a low chance of showers
Saturday and Sunday when the next cold front is expected to settle
south from the Great Lakes.

Temperatures will start well above normal, with highs Tuesday and
Wednesday in the mid and upper 70s. Much cooler highs in the upper
50s to low 60s are indicated for Thursday under a northerly flow
behind the first cold front. Highs will rebound to the low and mid
70s by Sunday as a southerly flow develops around high pressure.

&&

.AVIATION /02Z MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...
River valley fog can be expected again later tonight into Monday
morning. This will lead to some LIFR vsbys at KLUK. Otherwise,
clear skies and VFR conditions will prevail through the TAF
period.

OUTLOOK...No significant weather expected.
