.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 244 AM CDT Fri Oct 11 2024

A very quiet forecast continues with sfc high pressure dominating
through today then shifting south through the weekend and
bringing back a southwest wind. With the dry air in place highs
will climb to above normal through the weekend. Highs today
will be in the lower to mid 80s and based on yesterday's
over achievement, may not be high enough. Saturday will be even
warmer still thanks to that southwest wind, with highs in the
mid 80s.

NW flow aloft strengthens this weekend with an upper trof over the
Great Lakes and a sfc cold front will be pushed through the region
Sunday. Sunday's highs are not set in stone as the timing of this
front is still a little uncertain. Northern portions of the area may
not hit 80, while southern portions may reach the mid 80s again.
Right now it looks to be a dry cold front with the better moisture
off to our north, but not by much, so a stray shower or two is not
entirely out of the question. However, the NBM has kept things dry
for now. Significantly cooler air will come behind this cold front.
Highs through midweek next week will be well below average in the
upper 50s to mid 60s. Right now Tuesday night looks to be the
coldest night with lows in the mid 30s. With clear skies and light
winds, this could potentially be the first frost of the season.
Temperatures moderate more on Thursday and Friday with highs back
into the upper 60s and lower 70s on Thursday and into the 70s on
Friday.
