Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Wilmington OH
245 PM EDT Tue Oct 8 2024

.SYNOPSIS...
High pressure and a dry airmass will remain in control of the
weather through the end of the week. A few showers will be
possible on Sunday as a cold front moves through the region.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
Surface high pressure will remain centered off to our west
through tonight. With a very dry airmass in place, expect clear
skies and good radiational cooling again tonight. This will
lead to overnight lows mostly in the upper 30s to mid 40s, with
some cooler temperatures and patchy frost possible in some of
the outlying locations.

&&

.SHORT TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT/...
High pressure and the dry airmass will continue across the
region Wednesday into Wednesday night. Highs on Wednesday will
be mostly in the low 70s with lows Wednesday night dropping into
the upper 30s to mid 40s.

&&

.LONG TERM /THURSDAY THROUGH MONDAY/...
Dry weather will continue Thursday through Saturday as high
pressure tracks across the Ohio Valley. A cold front and wave of
low pressure will provide a chance for showers Saturday night
through Monday, mainly to northern locations. High pressure and
dry air are expected to return on Tuesday.

Temperatures are forecast to be above normal for the first portion
of the long term, especially on Saturday when highs reach the mid
70s to 80. A sharp cooling trend will be observed Monday and Tuesday
behind the front, when highs may be limited to the 50s in most
locations.

&&

.AVIATION /18Z TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
High pressure and a dry airmass will provide for mainly clear
skies through the period. The exception will be for some river
valley fog across our southeast later tonight into early
Wednesday. This could lead to a few hour period around daybreak of
MVFR vsby restrictions at KLUK.

OUTLOOK...No significant weather expected.
