Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Paducah KY
149 AM CDT Sun Sep 15 2024

.KEY MESSAGES...

- Another one to two thirds of an inch of rainfall is possible
across the southeast Missouri Ozarks before rain chances
finally draw to an end. Lesser amounts are expected elsewhere.

- Warm and dry conditions remain forecast the rest of the week
  and even into next weekend.

.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 145 AM CDT Sun Sep 15 2024

A drier and warmer pattern will begin taking hold and ultimately work
across the area in east-to-west fashion over the course of this
new week. In the interim, some form of pop will linger as they
otherwise contract across our southern and western counties
through Monday. Dew points hovering near 70F and still ample
columnar moisture will contribute to seeing another one to two
thirds of an inch of rainfall potential in the southeast
Missouri Ozarks, with lesser amounts expected elsewhere pops
reside.

We'll see the drier forecast reflected in dew points dropping
to the mid 50s to lower 60s by Tuesday, where they'll hold for
the bulk of the work week. Even into next weekend, they don't
exceed the lower 60s. This drier air mass will likewise get
warmer, with upper 80s expanding, also from east-to-west, and
becoming the norm across the entirety of the Forecast Area by
Tuesday and beyond.

.AVIATION /12Z TAFS THROUGH 12Z MONDAY/...
Issued at 145 AM CDT Sun Sep 15 2024

SCT-BKN generally mid level VFR bases are forecast, as is some
patchy pre dawn fog that might offer restricted VSBYS at times.
FEW-SCT diurnal bases will be lower but likely still within the
Visual Flight Rules category for the heating hours. While showers
linger across southern ptns of KY/MO, any such small pcpn chances
will be confined primarly to the KCGI/KPAH terminals, if at all.
