AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
National Weather Service Wilmington OH
121 PM EDT Sat Sep 14 2024

.SYNOPSIS...
Dry weather to continue across the Ohio Valley through the
middle of next week. Upper level high pressure will remain
entrenched over the area and inhibit any significant airmass
change for the region through this time, with temperatures
running warmer than normal.

&&

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/...
Few cumulus are developing and will continue through the
afternoon. Forecast temperatures still on track.

&&

.SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH 6 PM SUNDAY/...
A blocking pattern to continue with a large expansive mid and
upper level ridge centered over the eastern Great Lakes into New
England. This ridge will keep the area dry with a band of mid
level clouds across the far southwest decreasing in coverage.

Mostly sunny and warm conditions to continue. Highs today are
generally expected to be in the upper 80s.

&&

.LONG TERM /SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY/...
High pressure anchored across the Northeast CONUS is expected to
keep dry weather over the ILN area. Low pressure tracking to
Virginia may bring showers to Eastern Ohio on Wednesday but POPs
remain below the 14 percent threshold for precip in our area. The
dry conditions will contribute to the severity of the expanding
drought. Temperatures will stay relatively consistent through the
period, with highs in the 80s and lows in the upper 50s to low 60s
each day.

&&

.AVIATION /17Z SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
Few cumulus during the early part of the period will dissipate
with loss of heating. Skies will be clear beyond then. Cannot
completely rule out a bit of mist at KLUK bringing a brief
visibility reduction before daybreak. Easterly winds around 10
kt early will be lighter after 00Z.

OUTLOOK...No significant weather expected.
