.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 227 PM EDT Sat Sep 7 2024

With diurnal warming of the surrounding land areas around Lake
Michigan a more lake breeze cycle has developed and helped
weaken/remove the convergence zone over the lake that was
helping to produce convective showers earlier today. Also, a
more drier airmass has contributed to the lake effect shutting
down. A few light showers may continue for the next couple of
hours before completely ending. With that precipitation
conclusion the area will see no precipitation at least through
the next seven days. This drier and much cooler airmass has
brought highs today across the area only in the mid to upper
60s.

With clearing skies and slackening winds tonight, we will see
the Lake Michigan Beach hazards end and low temperatures will
drop into the lower 40s with a few locations especially in
northeastern OH seeing lows get into the upper 30s. With the
differential heating tomorrow, winds will again become breezy. A
more northwesterly flow aloft on the eastern periphery of
central Plains ridging will move into place and synoptic heights
will begin increasing and allow for slightly warmer temps with
highs in the upper 60s to low 70s on Sunday.

By Monday, the Plains ridging will move eastward into the region
and bring much warmer temperatures across the area well into
next weekend. Highs in the 80s expected and by mid-week
temperatures will be near the 90 degree mark through Friday and
a southern stream disturbance south of the region will bring
just slightly cooler temperatures (the mid 80s) on Saturday.
