Open waters from Vermilion OH to Geneva-on-the-lake OH...
At 906 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms producing waterspouts were
located along a line extending from 14 nm north of Geneva-On-The-Lake
to 14 nm northeast of Avon Point, moving southeast at 10 knots.
HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
higher winds and suddenly higher waves.
Locations impacted include...
Lorain Harbor, Western Vermilion, Geneva-On-The-Lake, Cleveland, and
Vermilion.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.
