...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 PM EDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southeast Kentucky, including the following
counties, Bell, Clay and Knox.
* WHEN...Until 1030 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 729 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Pineville, Salt Gum, Hammond, Scalf, Barnyard, Mills, Walker,
Ogle, Brightshade, Dewitt, Ice Cliff, Erose, Lipps, Field,
Hinkle, Ashers Fork, Fount, Haven, Baughman and Green Road.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
