...EXTREME HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...For the Extreme Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions
  with heat index values up to 110. For the Heat Advisory, heat index
  values up to 105 expected.

* WHERE...For the Extreme Heat Warning all of southern Illinois,
  southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast Missouri. For
  the Heat Advisory, in Kentucky, Fulton County. In Missouri, Butler,
  Carter, New Madrid, Ripley, and Stoddard Counties.

* WHEN...For the Extreme Heat Warning, until 8 PM CDT this evening.
  For the Heat Advisory, from 8 PM this evening to 8 PM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high
  humidity may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, stay informed.
