At 108 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Abita Springs, or near Covington, moving south at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Mandeville, Covington, Abita Springs, Madisonville, and Lacombe.
This includes Interstate 12 between mile markers 54 and 77.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CDT for
southeastern Louisiana.
