Scattered rainshowers and thunderstorm over the area will decrease
in coverage and strength through the evening. A storm may become
strong to marginally severe, with downbursts winds the primary
mode of severe. No updates needed with the current package. /16

The area remains in between two upper levels ridges, one over the
southwest and another off the east coast. Meanwhile, the Bermuda
high over the western Atlantic will build westward Sunday into
Monday. The resulting increased southerly flow will bring more
deep layer moisture into the area with PW values over 2 inches.
This will result in increased chances for showers and thunderstorm
Sunday into Monday. Gusty winds and frequent lightning will be
the main threats. The high moisture levels combined with the slow
movement of the storms will also lead to locally heavy rainfall
as well. By the middle of the week, the upper ridge builds over
the area, with lower rain chances and higher temps.
High temperatures will be in the low to mid 90s through the
period. Low temperatures are generally in the low to mid 70s each
night with upper 70s along the coast. Heat index values will range
from 100 to 107 in most areas through the period and widespread
heat advisory criteria is not expected. /13

General VFR conditions with local drops to low end MVFR over the
area early this evening will become general VFr as the convection
weakens. Slow movement of the convection will allow traffic to
maneuver around them. The rainshowers and thunderstorms will
shift offshore overnight, affecting near coastal areas around
sunrise. Rainshowers and thunderstorms will develop inland in the
afternoon, with drops to low end MVFR in the stronger storms.
