...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF NORTHEASTERN ST.
CHARLES AND NORTHWESTERN JEFFERSON PARISHES THROUGH 230 PM CDT
...
At 159 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
River Ridge, or over Kenner. This thunderstorm was nearly stationary.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Kenner, Metairie, Avondale, Jefferson, Harahan, Elmwood, Ama,
Waggaman, River Ridge, St. Rose, Bridge City, and New Orleans
Armstrong Airport.
This includes the following Interstates...
Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 220 and 229.
Interstate 310 between mile markers 1 and 2.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
