...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM EST EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central Kentucky, including the following 
  counties, Anderson, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, 
  Mercer, Washington and Woodford.

* WHEN...Until 500 AM EST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 148 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain
    has fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Lexington, Nicholasville, Winchester, Dunbar High School,
    Fayette Mall, Veterans Park, U K Arboretum, Cardinal Hill,
    Chevy Chase and Cadentown.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
