...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM CDT THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, including the following
counties, Hardin and Pope and western Kentucky, including the
following county, Union.
* WHEN...Until 1000 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 902 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated most of the heavy rain due to thunderstorms has
moved out, with only lingering light shower activity expected
henceforth. Minor flooding from the recent heavy rains is
still ongoing as radar estimates and spotter reports indicate
rainfall totals of between 1.5 and 4.5 inches of rain have
fallen over most of the Advisory area already.
- Additional rainfall amounts less than a quarter inch are
expected over the area, but the flood advisory continues
through expiration for rain that has already fallen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Morganfield, Sturgis, Breckinridge Center, Rosiclare,
Uniontown, Golconda, Dixon Springs, Cave-in-Rock, Waverly,
Elizabethtown, Old Shawneetown, Eddyville, Gross, Karbers
Ridge, and Hamletsburg.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
