.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 241 AM CDT Wed Aug 20 2025

Convective activity has decreased over the past few hours given
a stabilizing boundary layer while a front continues to push
south this morning. The front will continue its southern
progression into Tennessee today with surface high pressure
expanding southeast from the north ushering in a drier airmass.
Mostly sunny skies will result today with highs in the upper 80s
to near 90 degrees. High pressure at the surface will remain
over the Great Lakes the rest of this week before another front
begins to move southeast from the northern plains. Dry weather
is expected to continue with temperatures in the mid to upper
80s, pushing back to near 90 by Friday.

Saturday appears to be the warmest day of the forecast period
with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Another front will
move through the region Saturday night into Sunday, ushering in
an even drier and cooler airmass. This will be a much-needed
reprieve from the recent hot conditions, with daily highs next
week in the upper 70s to lower 80s and overnight lows dipping
into the 50s.
