Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Wilmington OH
132 AM EDT Mon Jun 23 2025

.SYNOPSIS...
Hot and humid conditions will occur through much of the week. The
chance of showers and storms will return mid week and increase as we
head into late week.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TODAY/...
Lingering cu will continue to dissipate early this evening with
mostly clear skies overnight. It will be warm again tonight with lows
in the lower to mid 70s.

&&

.SHORT TERM /TONIGHT THROUGH 6 PM TUESDAY/...
Sprawling upper high will persist through the period. Surface high
axis will remain just southeast of the area keeping winds
southwesterly. Temperatures will remain near or slightly above
persistence with highs in the lower to mid 90s and lows in the mid
70s. Heat indices on Monday could briefly reach 105 in come places
south of I-70, but it does not look extensive enough to vary from the
heat advisory that is already in effect.

&&

.LONG TERM /TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY/...
Above normal temperatures are expected through the long term with
high temperatures in the 90s for several days.  Some 80s will mix
with the 90s for the weekend.

Although above normal temperatures are expected through the long
term, decided not to extend any heat headlines.  Currently heat
headlines go out through Wednesday. There are increased chances of
thunderstorms from mid week on that could increase the potential for
not hitting heat headline criteria. Thursday and Friday have spotty
100 heat index values and no 100 heat index values are currently
forecast for the weekend.

There is at least an isolated severe threat during the second half
of the week. Due to uncertainty in exact timing and location decided
to leave any severe mention out of the HWO at this time, however
mention will likely need to be added with time.

Main change to the NBM for this forecast time period was to increase
cloud cover with precipitation chances.

&&

.AVIATION /06Z MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Skies will be mostly clear overnight leading to some patchy river
valley fog. Expect some brief MVFR vsby restrictions at KLUK late
tonight into early Monday. Otherwise, scattered cumulus clouds will
develop this afternoon.

OUTLOOK...Thunderstorms are possible Wednesday and Thursday.
