Dry and sunny conditions continue across the CWFA this afternoon.
The region continues to rest under a dry northwesterly flow on
the western periphery of a broader scale trough just to our east.
A surface high pressure also resides over the northern Gulf, which
again is allowing for some very favorable weather conditions.
Temperatures have warmed into the mid and upper 70s this
afternoon. Temperatures tonight will drop back into the 50s for
most so another coolish night across the region before again
warming back into the 80's for most on Thursday. (Frye)

Eyes will be focused on a cold frontal boundary and parent trough
moving southward/amplifying from the Ohio River Valley early
Friday. This front should pass through our region early in the
day, but with very little return flow and simply put very little
moisture quality, rainfall will only be limited to portions of
Alabama and Georgia north and east of our region. Behind the front
temperatures during the day will not change too much with the sun
angle getting stronger and stronger this time of year and
effective surface heating, so we will still warm into the 70s or
even lower 80s going into the weekend. Winds will shift to a
northerly direction behind the front ushering in even more dry
air. And that will be the story for much of the long term dry
northerly flow with temperatures around average for this time of
year...perhaps a bit on a cooler side overnight. The next chance
for rain looks to possibly move into the region on Tuesday with
another surface front. Globals are agreeing on timing, but neither
the GFS nor ECM are very bullish with their respective QPF
numbers. (Frye)

VFR conditions will prevail for the forecast period. Winds remain
light and variable overnight becoming southwesterly in the morning
to afternoon hours. -BL

Tranquil marine conditions mostly through the period. Winds and
seas to increase behind a cold front later this week and early in
the weekend. Cautionary headlines may be required at least
briefly as northerly winds set up. High pressure moves back into
the region by Sunday, which will improve conditions once again.
