.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 328 PM CDT Mon Mar 17 2025

Now through Tuesday night...

A dry northwesterly flow pattern aloft will continue through
Tuesday as an upper trough pushes into the western Atlantic and
upper ridging builds over the central US. The axis of this ridge
moves overhead Tuesday night. At the surface, high pressure will
slowly shift eastward across the Gulf Coast states, anchoring
itself over the Florida Peninsula by Tuesday night. With
subsidence in place from the ridging aloft and at the surface,
along with PWATs less than a half inch, no rain is expected
through Tuesday night. Lows tonight will remain rather chilly,
with temperatures dropping into the upper 30s to low 40s, and mid
40s along the coast. After the surface high moves overhead
tonight, winds will turn more southerly, allowing for temperatures
to warm as we get into Tuesday. Highs on Tuesday will top out in
the mid to upper 70s. Lows Tuesday night will range from the mid
40s northeast to the mid 50s southwest and along the coast. A Low
Risk of rip currents will be in place from tonight through Tuesday
night. /96

Wednesday through Sunday...

High pressure will move east of the area Wednesday as an upper
trough moves across the plains states and an associated cold
front slides east. Moisture levels will slowly increase ahead of
the approaching cold front through Wednesday night. The lack of
quality moisture return will keep instability levels low with just
scattered to locally numerous showers expected along the front.
Can't rule out isolated thunderstorms, however most of the
thunderstorms will likely remained confined to the marine area
where there will be greater instability. Cooler and drier air
follows for Thursday into Friday with patchy frost possible
Thursday night into Friday morning. Temps moderate Saturday into
Sunday ahead of the next cold front approaching the area by late
in the day on Sunday. /13

(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 1224 PM CDT Mon Mar 17 2025

VFR conditions will prevail over the next 24 hours. Northwesterly

weaken this evening and become light and variable tonight. /96

.MARINE...
Issued at 328 PM CDT Mon Mar 17 2025

Light to moderate offshore flow will turn more southerly on
Tuesday ahead of our next cold front. A strong offshore flow will
return late Wednesday night and into Thursday in the wake of the
front, with Small Craft Advisories likely becoming necessary.
Winds gradually relax by Friday and a light onshore flow will be
in place for the weekend. /96
