...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Kentucky, including the following 
  counties, Bell, Breathitt, Clay, Floyd, Harlan, Knott, Leslie, 
  Letcher, Magoffin, Perry and Pike.

* WHEN...Until 500 PM EST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1252 PM EST, Widespread rainfall totals of 1.75 to 2.25
    inches over the last 18 to 24 hours has allowed for swollen
    creeks and streams in low lying areas, resulting in minor
    flooding. Most smaller streams and creeks have crested;
    however, the continued light rainfall through the rest of
    this afternoon will continue to only allow for a gradual
    recession of high water in low lying areas.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Pikeville, Hazard, Jackson, Whitesburg, Harlan, Hindman,
    Hyden, Letcher, Estill, Bath, Cumberland, Jenkins, Loyall,
    Elkhorn City, Evarts, Wheelwright, Fleming-Neon, Lynch, Pippa
    Passes and Benham.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.
