...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST
TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations
between 12 and 20 inches are expected across Lake and northern
Ashtabula County. Snowfall totals will quickly decrease to the
south with 2 to 4 inches expected across southern Ashtabula County.

* WHERE...Ashtabula Inland, Ashtabula Lakeshore, and Lake Counties.

* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/4
mile due to falling and blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are
expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially
life-threatening. Travel could be very difficult to impossible,
especially in eastern Lake and northern Ashtabula Counties where
25 to 40 inches of snow has already fallen. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...General snowfall rates should be a bit less
efficient with this round of snow, although there will be brief
periods of 1 to 2 inch per hour snowfall rates. In areas closest
to Lake Erie that have already received 25 to 40 inches of
snowfall, this additional snowfall will result in storm total
snowfall of 4 to 5 feet.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

The Ohio Department of Transportation and Ohio Turnpike and
Infrastructure Commission strongly encourage motorists to heed all
travel restrictions and delay unnecessary travel. Visit www.ohgo.com
for the latest travel, roadway, and traffic conditions.

Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use
extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary.

During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally
heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can
also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather,
visibility, and road conditions.
