.KEY MESSAGES...

- A cold front will bring markedly cooler temperatures this
  weekend and refreshingly lower humidity.

- Fire danger is heightened this weekend with lower relative
humidity values in the 20s percentile.

- A warming trend resumes with near to above normal temperatures
in the otherwise dry forecast for next week.

.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 130 PM CDT Thu Sep 5 2024

A cold front makes its approach and passage during the next 24
hours. There will be an attendant "chance" of pcpn along the
front itself, but it is scant. Lapse rates are paltry, shear is
minimal, and columnar moisture is challenged. There is a surface dew
point surge ahead of it, so we'll refrain from the instinct to
go silent until its passage is completed and drier air (lagging
behind front a little) works in more completely tmrw night.

The front brings a nice cooldown this weekend. Dew points drop
into the 40s and lows respond in kind both nights. This will
create some 20s percentile RH values across the FA Saturday thru
Monday, so fire conditions may heighten as a result. We get back
closer to normal daytime highs in the 80s next week and even
push 90 by the end of the week in what is otherwise just a
dry/warm and uneventful week of weather.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z SATURDAY/...
Issued at 1216 AM CDT Fri Sep 6 2024

With light winds and modest moisture pooling over the area some
fog development is likely in the pre-dawn hours. After sunrise a
front begins working into the area. By afternoon areas ahead of
the front may see a few showers and storms develop. This
activity appears most likely over the HOP-OWB corridor roughly.
