At 925 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Brookport to near Lovelaceville to near
Wickliffe. Movement was southeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Paducah, Mayfield, Benton, Calvert City, Reidland, Lone Oak, Land
Between The Lakes Area, Brookport, Ledbetter, Lovelaceville, Hardin,
Lowes, Fancy Farm, Blandville, Kirksey, Brewers, and Symsonia.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 24 in Kentucky between Mile Markers 4 and 27.
Interstate 69 in Kentucky between Mile Markers 16 and 51.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for
southern Illinois...and western Kentucky.
