- Increased winds behind a cold front Friday and Saturday will
bring dangerous swimming conditions to Lake Michigan beaches.
- Pleasant weather will prevail into the middle of next week
with dry weather. Highs will be mostly in the 70s and low in
the 50s.

A large omega type upper block over western Canada will be very slow
to break down and will help keep seasonably cool and less humid air
over the forecast area into the middle of next week as a downstream
upper low lingers near and north of Lake Superior. The upper low was
just north of the Canadian border near northwest MN early this
morning. This system will move east and bring another cold front
across the area Friday. Have issued a Beach Hazard Statement
for Friday and Saturday for dangerous swimming conditions that
will develop with the higher wind speeds behind the front.
Otherwise, a gradual warming trend will then begin that will
extend into the middle of next week. Upper air climatology
supports average 850 mb temperatures near +14C corresponding to
highs of 82 (Ft Wayne). It will not be until Thursday per ECMWF
and GFS that temperatures recover to +14C/back to normal.
