.DISCUSSION...
KEY MESSAGE 1...
A cold front accompanied by rain showers will move southeast
across the area late this evening through tonight. It'll be a
short window (generally between 22-05Z), with showers lasting
no long er than an hour or two at any given location. Thunder is
unlikely but can't be ruled out in the Toledo area and then
along the lakeshore, with a brief gust of wind mainly near the
lakeshore.
Dry weather returns Friday and Saturday as high pressure build
back in across the region. Slightly cooler, albeit still above
normal, with highs in the 60s Friday and Saturday behind the
cold front. Chilly overnight lows Friday night in the 40s for
most and the low to mid 30s in the higher terrain of Northwest
Pennsylvania.
KEY MESSAGE 2...
As high pressure departs to the east, isolated, light rain
showers may accompany a warm front Sunday night into Monday. Low
pressure and an upper-level low will build into the region
through midweek, with rain shower chances increase Monday night
onward. Above normal temperatures will remain in place, and in
fact will be well above normal Tuesday and Wednesday.

.AVIATION /06Z Friday THROUGH Tuesday/...
At 06Z a cold front extended from ERI to MFD and is moving
southeast. Winds ahead of the front are southwesterly but will
shift to northwesterly behind the front through 07Z. Rain
showers associated with the front have ended but some pockets of
MVFR cloud are possible, mainly at ERI but may also briefly
impact YNG through 10Z. A longer period of MVFR may linger at
ERI with some lake enhanced cloud continuing through Friday
morning. Otherwise, most other terminals will trend towards
clearing low clouds and mostly sunny skies for today. While a
few wind gusts to 20 knots remain possible through about 08Z
near Lake Erie, winds will tend to settle into the 5-10 knot
range through this afternoon then become light easterly tonight.
Outlook...Apart from low rain chances Monday into Tuesday,
mainly VFR expected through Tuesday.
&&
.MARINE...
Winds will become northwest this evening into tonight behind a
cold front. Choppy conditions with waves 2-4 feet in the
central basin remain possible behind the frontal passage through
early Friday morning. As high pressure departs to the east,
light easterly winds (less than 10 knots) are expected Friday
night into Saturday, becoming southeast on Sunday.
