.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1235 AM CDT Mon Oct 19 2026
The first of two upper level ridges that will be in control of
our weather for the next seven days is passing to the east while
the next ridge is building to the west. We are probably amid the
driest airmass we have seen in months. The 00z Nashville RAOB
recorded a column precipitable water of just 0.47 inches.
Through the week deep layer ridging builds in from the
southwest. This keeps the dry airmass locked in place with
gradual warming through the week. Highs work towards the mid to
upper 70s. Deterministic GFS tries to flatten the ridge out
early next week, but ECMWF, ensembles and GFSAI/ECMWFAI do not
seem to think we break from the pattern at that point.
Nevertheless an enjoyable and stable period of weather still
looks likely for the predictable future.
