Ontario has the worst recycling rates in Canada for non-alcoholic beverage containers. Billions of cans, plastic bottles and cartons go to landfills or incinerators yearly. The Ford government was seriously considering adopting a new system to improve things, but abruptly U-turned and scrapped it.
