Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Wilmington OH
1226 AM EDT Mon Sep 8 2025
.SYNOPSIS...
High pressure will shift slowly east across the region this week,
resulting in dry conditions and a gradual warming trend.
&&
.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TODAY/...
Surface high pressure will be centered over the lower Great Lakes
today. With a little bit of airmass modification, temperatures will
be a couple of degree warming today than on Sunday with afternoon
highs in the low to mid 70s.
&&
.SHORT TERM /TONIGHT THROUGH 6 PM TUESDAY/...
The surface high will shift slowly east tonight through Tuesday. As
we get into some weak return flow, temperatures will begin to slowly
modify. Lows tonight will be mostly in the 40s with highs on Tuesday
in the 75 to 80 degree range.
&&
.LONG TERM /TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY/...
Extended forecast continues to look quite dry. One possible caveat
is Sat night/early Sun when a cold front crosses. Attm, chances
remain low enough <25% to where the forecast does not mention it.
Temperatures start out a little cooler than normal with Wed morning
lows near 50 in the east and lower 50s elsewhere, and highs in the
low 80s. After Wed, highs in the low-mid 80s will start and end the
period, with slightly warmer mid-upper 80s Sat/Sun. In a similar
vein, lows in the mid-upper 50s will peak on Sat night to be within
a degree or two on either side of 60.
Using Dayton as a proxy, normals drop 4-5 degrees over the next 7
days. The high starts at 82 and ends at 77, with the low dropping
from 60 to 56. Fall is knocking on our door if not already here.
&&
.AVIATION /04Z MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...
With light winds and clear skies, some river valley fog will be
possible again through daybreak, especially across our southeast.
This could lead to some vsby restrictions at KLUK. Otherwise, with
high pressure and a dry airmass in place, VFR conditions will
prevail through the TAF period.
OUTLOOK...No significant weather expected.
