.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 415 AM CDT Sun Jun 22 2025
Today through Monday night...
An upper ridge will continue across the area through the near term
with a summer pattern of isolated to scattered showers and
storms. A strong storm or two can't be ruled out with ample CAPE
and weak shear overhead. Primary hazards with any storms would be
gusty winds, small hail and frequent lightning along with locally
heavy rainfall. Temperatures remain warm in the lower to middle
90s for highs with lows in the lower to middle 70s. Heat index
values will top out in the 100 to 105 range during the afternoon
hours. A Low risk of rip currents remains in place through
Monday night. /13
Tuesday through Saturday...
An upper ridge will continue through the work week across the
eastern half of the U.S. This will maintain a hot pattern with
diurnal showers and thunderstorms primarily focused along the
seabreeze boundary. Isolated to scattered showers and
thunderstorms will remain possible each day, primarily during the
afternoon and early evening hours. Higher rain chances return by
the end of the week as the ridge weakens and moisture levels
increase. Temperatures will average up to 5 degrees above normal
through the extended, with highs in the middle 90s inland and the
lower 90s along the beaches and barrier islands. Low temperatures
across interior areas will be in the lower to middle 70s and the
upper 70s along the beaches and barrier islands. /13
