...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...Indiana...
Wabash River.
Wildcat Creek near Lafayette.
.Lowland flooding has developed along the length of the Wabash River
due to rainfall of generally three to eight inches in the Wabash
basin. Significant flooding is expected to develop on the lower
Wabash from Riverton down through Mount Carmel. The crest on the
Wabash was approaching Covington and Montezuma Monday morning and is
expected to reach Riverton Thursday morning and Mount Carmel on
Sunday.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHERE...Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site.
* WHEN...Until Wednesday, April 16.
* IMPACTS...At 22.8 feet, Flooding extends to what is locally called
River Road in several areas. River Road is the rural way south
from Hutsonville to Palestine. Flooding in this area affects
large expanses of agricultural land, river cabins and hunting
areas on both sides of the river. Most local, unimproved roads
leading towards the river are flooded. These roads led to farms,
river cabins, private residences, levees and a few oil wells.

- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 22.6
feet Thursday morning. It will then fall below flood stage

Levee as a result of two unrepaired levee breaks from the April
2013 flood. This levee is maintained by the Honey Creek Levee
Association. Flood waters behind the Honey Creek levee inundates
most roads and affects a few residences and or commercial
activities.

* IMPACTS...At 31.0 feet, Much of Western Gibson County is
underwater. Some evacuations are necessary. New Baltimore (Black
Hawk River Camp) about 1 1/2 miles south of Griffin floods
extensively. Extensive flooding on the northern outskirts of
Mount Carmel, Illinois. Numerous local river roads are
underwater, some by a few feet. A few agricultural levees fail.
River is 3 miles wide at I-64.
